My story

My name is Shailish Bajnath. I love helping people. At the same time, I also really enjoy science and learning new things. Perhaps that stems from a curiosity I developed in my youth, which I’ve never lost and hope to keep.

After completing my studies at the University of Groningen, I worked at various pharmacies. Initially, I worked on a temporary assignment basis, which allowed me to get a behind-the-scenes look at many different community and outpatient pharmacies. There, I observed and learned which factors do—or do not—contribute to quality care and a well-run pharmacy.

In addition, I have experience as a qualified person/responsible person in the pharmaceutical industry. In that role, I approved medications for release in various European countries, including the Dutch market. In general, the pharmaceutical industry has stricter quality requirements for medications than pharmacies do.

Partly because of my experience, I am glad that, as a pharmacist at Aevita B.V., I can contribute to providing excellent, high-quality care and products.

My approach

With my scientific and analytical background, I work with the team to ensure that the processes and products in the pharmacy are of high quality. A solid understanding of how medicines are used and how they work contributes to good health. It’s wonderful to be able to share that knowledge with patients, who then benefit from it directly.

Pharmaceutical care

I live in Rotterdam with my girlfriend and our two adorable children. I come from a large family, so I’m a real family person. Like almost everyone else, I really enjoy traveling, especially getting to know new customs and cultures. I also love almost anything to do with speed or flying.
