My story

My name is Michael, founder and director of Aevita. After running a pharmaceutical wholesaler and importer for 12 years and having gone through a GLP-1 treatment programme myself, I thought it would be great to bring those two worlds together. The digital healthcare market is developing rapidly. I believe that, in many cases, digital healthcare can certainly offer a solution to the overstretched healthcare system in the Netherlands, but that this is no reason to make it impersonal. It is precisely that personal approach that I find important.

During my own experience with GLP-1 medication, I noticed that support was completely lacking across many platforms. As a result, I didn’t feel much better after losing a lot of weight than I had before. I want to do things differently at Aevita. Support from a genuine team of professionals who are there for our clients. It is the combination of support and medication that really makes the difference.

My approach

I enjoy building a team of people who know their profession independently. I am then there to think outside the box, provide strategic direction, and facilitate. At Aevita, we work with various disciplines. The team includes healthcare professionals, dieticians, pharmacy staff, but also office workers. I think getting that to work together and strengthen each other is a really cool process.

Personal

Besides all my business activities, I’m married to an Italian woman, a father of four children and (believe it or not) already a grandfather! Business is my passion, but I love keeping in touch with friends and family and travelling a lot. We’re often in Italy and regularly discover new countries and cultures. I focus a lot on my health and do my best to keep myself in top shape so I can continue to enjoy my family and all our adventures for many years to come!
